Position Summary
The Product Engineering Center of Excellence (COE) at Covidien is an engineering discipline that deals with both design and manufacturing support for a product under development. It entails, but is not limited to, activities commonly carried out during the product development process. Examples include FEA, solid modeling, prototype development and testing (electrical, mechanical and software), PCB design & development, software and firmware development and testing, documentation, packaging and label development, sustaining engineering and manufacturing process development. Ultimately, the Product Engineering Center of Excellence will design and develop products for the emerging markets.
Principal Accountabilities
Executing mechanical engineering analysis specifically supporting in pre-processing and analysis.
Areas of specialization may include preprocessing (CAD & FEA), meshing & static analysis.
Extensive hands-on use of meshing & FEA software such as ANSYS Workbench.
Report writing and presentation of analysis results to Analysis team
Work independently and in a team setting to plan and schedule activities necessary to produce results and meet timelines.
Collaborate with US based product development teams
Requirements
M.S. Mechanical Engineering with 0-3 years of experience.
Expert in pre-processing specially FE model preparation and meshing
Subject matter knowledge of FEA & Numerical methods.
Expert in CAD tool like Pro-E with model creation capability for FE analysis
Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
Ability to travel globally (approx. 10 % travel).
