Job Description	Primary Responsibilities - Ensure integrity of the sources / deliverables. (This is achieved by comparison of the source modified with the previous version of the source and confirming that all the changes done to the source are properly identified with the necessary tags / developer. By also verifying that the build of the software is done as per the procedure.) Ensure traceability and retrievability of sources and deliverables. (Traceability is achieved through ensuring that the check-in of the files is done in the right environment and by using the right package. Verification of the checked-in configuration items through the listing / reports generated by the SCM tool. Retrievability is achieved through periodical check-out of the latest/previous version of the configuration items from the SCM tool and comparing them with the configuration items available in standard areas / storage locations maintained for comparison) Provide effective solutions by implementing the configuration management & build best practices by exploiting the SCM tools features for efficient configuration management & build activities. Provide guidance to development & QA teams to support different development methodologies in the areas of SCM. Review and provide inputs to the Project Manager / Senior Managers to approve and confirm the project configuration and build management plan. Implement and continuously improve reliable and speedy build environments for development & QA. Provide build status timely. Automate as much as possible to improve efficiency and quality. Ensure that escrow and other contractual obligations are met. (The contractual obligations for escrow are defined by the contracts / agreements that Allscripts enters into with its clients. These normally include depositing of the sources with escrow agency. This is achieved by maintaining a document describing the escrow number, the client for whom the sources are escrowed, records of such escrow deposits made and the acknowledgements received from the escrow agency.) Provide training to developers on source code management. Estimate the efforts required for Configuration Management Activities for projects and agree schedules with the Manager. Understand and execute the packaging and deployment process. Liaise with managers and keep them informed of progress. (This is applicable to any kind of specific and periodic tasks assigned. Example: Deposit of sources under escrow commitments.) SCM Process - Should define SCM best practices and should be a key driver of the same. Should write SCM plan and have good understanding of configuration management process (Configuration Identification, Control, Status Accounting and Audit Reporting.) Should understand the agile workflow and SDLC life-cycle. Version Control System Administration - Team Foundation Server, Subversion, ClearCase, CM Synergy, VSS and Perforce (Should have strong understanding of one of them) Build Management - Should have strong scripting knowledge of one of the scripting tools like MSBuild, Perl, Shell, Batch or Python. Should have strong knowledge of build tools like ant, nant, make, and maven. Should have designed the build workflow and have strong understanding of the same. Continuous Integration - Should have strong understanding of the Continuous Integration Process and the workflow. Should have worked with CI tools like TFSBuild, Jenkins, Team City, and Cruise Control. Interpersonal Skills - Very good communication skill. Should be a strong team player.
